Audience Researchers & Communications Team

We have been tasked with the intriguing job of researching new audience groups for the World Archaeology Festival. So this term we have had the brilliant opportunity to learn about teenagers and homeschoolers. Our role also involves being responsible for the event's marketing so we are the faces behind the media! We have eclectic tastes meaning our hobbies include cooking, rambling, reading and visiting museums! We would love to hear from you, whether you are generally interested in the event or would like to contact us regarding marketing then please email: rachel.bray.14@ucl.ac.uk

Family Activity Developers

We are the Family Activities Development team and we are the creative force behind the fantastic activities you'll be doing this year! We've been working all term to create a range of immersive and engaging activities. This year we focussed on creating activities from all the areas of the archaeological process to show you what it takes to be an archaeologist! Lauren is the glam group leader and knows how to motivate the group with her funny anecdotes! Albert, our resident archaeologist, is the brains of the group and helps us find the archaeology behind our activities. Alec is our cheeky Scouser who's always up for a giggle. Literally. Ottilie is our bonkers blonde, who does the BEST impressions! Brittney is our sassy Southerner who cooks the meanest chicken and dumplings this side of Mississippi! Imogen is our quirky Londoner who thinks all cats are purrrfect. We are so excited to meet all of you at the World Archaeology Festival 2015!

Family Resources Development Team

A team from a mixture of backgrounds with a common passion for archaeology and heritage, we're responsible for developing a fun and factual family trail -  here are some fun facts about us. We all answered the following questions:

Q: What inspired you to get involved with archaeology/heritage?

Q: What's an interesting fact about you?

Fundraisers

Hi everyone! We are the fundraising team and our duty is to identify funding opportunities for the event. We develop original and fun activities but also more marketing driven ones too. You might have seen us at one of our recent events: a successful bake sale topped with our very own team member wearing a baker’s apron! We also collaborate with the other teams to develop and implement marketing strategies. Watch out for our next activities and we look forward to seeing you at the World Archaeology Festival!

Project Team Leader & Project Team Coordinator

Hi everyone!

We are Tessa and Desiree, the WAF Team's student Manager and Coordinator. It's hard work but incredibly good fun to see this project develop from its conception all the way to its delivery. All teams are working together to make this project the best it can be and we are very excited to be supervising and helping them in the process. Apart from spending endless hours thinking about the project, we are proper museum geeks (or maybe just Desiree) and enjoy discovering new aspects of London. Tessa is always happy to hear a good terrible joke and luckily enough Desiree has plenty of them, archaeology related in particular!

Audience Evaluation Team

Since beginning planning this event, we have had the chance to communicate with local families. We carry out effective evaluation through questionnaires which help us to understand our target audiences. Our obligation is to cooperate with other teams, recruit focus groups, test the event's core concepts, and implement any other brilliant ideas. Our interests are visiting archaeological sites and museums, and watching movies! We would like to hear from you, so please email us: hongxin.zhu@ucl.ac.uk

The Committee

The World Archaeology Festival: Passport to the Past has its own committee comprised of the Institute's employees who work on planning the event on an annual basis. Their expertise and knowledge about archaeology and event organisation has proved invaluable for the MSI course of 2015. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their support and advice - it is much appreciated by all of us!
